Italy is a too small market for Food
Mainardi that, from its headquarters
in Ronchi dei Legionari (Go), sells
food products for the restaurants
(fresh, preserved and frozen ) as well
as in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region,
in Slovenia and Croatia, respectively
from 2006 and from 2013.
The company covers an area of about
2000 square meters, with attached
cold storage.
The range of the Cash and Carry
includes all the food required
by the most advanced food, as
well as articles for professional
cleaning. Each operation of storage,
preparation and shipping of products
marketed strictly follows the HACCP
plan.
The strength of the company is the
scrupulous oversight of logistics,
which allows guaranteeing the
execution of orders within 24 hours.
All deliveries are made using our
own vehicles, equipped with dual
temperature to best ensure the
conservation of all products.
“Our spirit - says Eduardo Mainardi,
managing director of the company -
has always been to seek high-quality
products and specialties, to propose
them to our customers. Our company
knows in depth the Mediterranean
cuisine, so it is also able to provide
assistance with regard to the
industry.”
This is made possible thanks to the
professional kitchen inside, which
is used to test all the new products
offered by suppliers. “In the room
for the demo - continues Mainardi -
tastings are held regularly with our
clients and not just the presence of
highly trained professional chefs.
The goal is to convey ideas and
innovations to existing operators to
implement their menus. Customers,
suppliers, our range of products are
the heart of our business and that is
why I personally take care all these
aspects and, if necessary, recommend
the customer the choice of products.”
The events organized periodically in
prestige location represent a further
opportunity to strengthen ties with
customers and suppliers.
A bit ‘ of history
Mainardi Food deals with food
specialties since 1984. In 1998,
after a careful analysis of business
opportunities and a phase of
profound restructuring, the company
has given a managerial dimension.
It started as a period of strong
commitment to the development of
the sales network and the expansion
of the references of the warehouse
and logistics. In 2003 a new
warehouse in Ronchi dei Legionari
got inagurated.

GF1 of the Brothers Silvestro and
Stefano Panconi, with the two Cash
& Carry in Avenza than 2000 square
meters in Levanto, 1000, operates
in the geographic area that extends
from high in the Tuscan Riviera of
Levante, comprising the provinces of
Massa-Carrara, La Spezia and Lucca
Versilia, purely in tourist areas.
In the two outlets, GF1 offers the
possibility to choose between six
thousand items distributed among
the food industry, the delicatessen,
dairy products, fresh produce, frozen
foods, beverage and non-food.
Next then, the classic industrial
products, the two brothers Panconi,
they also decided to complement
homemade and local products. The
new department of fish at Avenza
created two years ago is the latest
project born who is giving great
satisfaction.
One of the highlights is the service
delivery: the company is able to
fulfill orders that may be made by
e-commerce, fax, phone, or with local
agents, and in 12/24 hours daily from
Monday Saturday.
Operate in areas of high tourist
vocation of the sea, means that
the 70% of the turnover of GF1
is generated in the three summer
months, from June to September.
The concentration of working in
a small part of the year greatly
complicates the management than
their “city”: staff (you have to rely
on seasonal), logistics (you need
to rent vehicles during periods of
summer) and even the cash flow!
The most critical aspect is that of
the staff, because although we try
to re-confirm every year the same
season is not always possible, and
then every year you have to re- invest
in the training of new arrivals.”

Qualitaly, reference for catering
For almost 15 years GF1 is a member
of C.I.C. (Cooperative Italian
Catering) and Silvestro is a member
of the board of directors.
The product lines Qualitaly -
Tavolaviva - Frost - Utility and the
Charter alongside those of the
major brands in the range offered.
