the right mix of experience and
enthusiasm, which I consider essential
to continue the project and in the path
of our Organization, which is present
throughout the national territory, for
over 17 years.
Among the points that have been
shared by the new board of directors,
there are separate powers which will
be transferred to all the directors,
awarded by business sector and
expertise.
Even the geographical representation
of the board appointed is a symbol of
cohesion and representativeness in the
territory.
I understand, now, how passion,
dedication and commitment to the new
team want to work to ensure the future
of cooperative results.
To create awareness of this was the
meeting at the meeting with our
members, from whom I received the
trust they have placed on all members
of the CDA. The answer, in short
terms, will be to actively involve
the social base, in terms of active
collaboration, especially in the various
committees purchases; because it is
with everyone that we have to share all
the decisions based on the needs that
the market asks.
We are a group of companies and
people who have to give a lot.
Therefore, if the skills, knowledge and
experience of each member will be
made available to all, I see a positive
future ahead for all of us.
I believe that the strong sense of
belonging to our cooperative, is the
best way to overcome the inevitable
problems that gradually we can expect
from the market but, if it is true that
union means strength, it won’t find us
unprepared.
The mission of all the members of
Coperativa Italiana Catering will be
honest challenge and, if necessary, also
hard and explicit, between different
opinions never seeking the conquest
of consensus, so a little ‘easier and a
little’ pimp.
That is a typical feature of little
politician’s men who do not have the
courage to support their ideas, to
defend the chair. That’s not us, we’re
not that kind of trapeze artists. Loyalty,
for us, is an absolute value.

Elected new
leadership of CIC
The Shareholders’ Meeting of the
Cooperative Italian Catering, held last
September 12 at its headquarters in
Pioltello (MI), with a turnout virtually
plenary of its members, appointed,
unanimously, the new leadership of
their officers.
The Board of Directors in office is
composed as follows:
Vincenzo Murgia, Chairman of the
Board of Directors (Sardinia); Nicola
Levorato, Vice Chairman of the Board
of Directors (Veneto); Lorenzo Morelli,
director (Trentino); Silvestro Panconi,
director (Tuscany); Antonio Bocchi,
Director (Emilia-Romagna); Roberto
Zanobi, director (Lazio); Antonio Di
Lorito, director (Abruzzo)
Among the points tracked by the new
Presidency, there are separate powers,
which will be transferred to all the
directors, assigned by sector of activity
and expertise. “I wish to point out and
thank you all for the positive energy
that I personally received - one of the
first things the new president said- all
the staff working in the main office of
our cooperative: Vito, George, Luciano,
Fabrizio, Marco, Cinzia, Paola, Gloria.
The new board of directors has in fact
shared the change in the management
of the office and commercial relations,
and the response it is receiving
from the staff is truly inspiring and
encouraging, and pushes us all to put
your heart over the obstacle; as we do
in our businesses every day, so it will
be in our cooperative.”
The meeting was concluded with
great enthusiasm and cohesion of
Shareholders, intending quickly revive
the activities typical of Coperativa
Italiana Catering, now in its 17th year
of operation.
Cooperativa Italiana
Catering in Sicily: a
clarification.
Regarding the article “A reference
for all of Sicily”, appeared in the
88, we would like to point out that
the Cooperativa Italiana Catering is
represented by three members in Sicily,
Il Pascolo Verde Srl, New Vecagel Srl
and Unigroup Spa, well distributed and
well rooted on the whole region and
which are, each for their own area, a
fundamental point of reference for the
world of food.

”The canned tomatoes in Italy are
made from 100% Italian product. Cast
a shadow on the entire industry of
processing tomatoes, for failure to
comply with the regulations on the
part of some companies, it damages
the image of a sector of excellence of
Made in Italy.” The Anicav President’s
answer to, the leading association
representing the canning industry in
the controversy engaged by the telecast
Le Iene on the alleged Italian Products
containing tomato paste in Chinese
products, not long in coming.
According to the president of ANICAV,
that story of Chinese tomato confused
by made in Italy it is an “urban legend”
food repeatedly denied over the years,
but dies hard. “Assuming that cans
of peeled, chopped tomatoes are
produced using Italian or Chinese
concentrated, is like to think we can
transform the wine in grapes - says
Ferraioli. - Canned products such as
tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and pulp
can be produced only from fresh
tomato. One for the production of
tomatoes is 100% Italian, is harvested
between July and September and is
processed in the company within a few
hours of harvest.”
On the origin of the raw materials
of tomato puree Italians can be
considered safe. The director of
ANICAV, Giovanni De Angelis,
recalls that by the Italian law there
is an obligation to produce it only
from fresh tomatoes, which must
be processed within 24-36 hours of
collection. To this, De Angelis adds,
“working fresh products from other
countries, especially from a distant one
like China, it would be impossible for
the distance, as well as uneconomical
