The Pact for Expo

The commitments of the pact between

the City EXPO Milano, Milan Chamber

of Commerce, bars and restaurants in

Milan:

• Ensure a children’s menu and a tourist

menu Expo;

• Facilitate access to sanitation (to non-

consumers);

• Accompany the service automatically at

the table with a glass / jug of water “the

Mayor”;

• Prepare menus, maps and lists in

multiple languages;

• “Moral suasion” on the prices of some

widely-used consumer products (eg. 1/2

bottle of water and a cup of coffee at the

counter);

• Specific attention in the sale and

service of alcoholic beverages

(Eg. Special attention to the prohibitions

for minors and persons under the

influence);

• Basic language training in English;

• Promoting local produce excellence

1.1 million square meters of total surface

area which will host the event

53 pavilions (11 more than the record of

Shanghai 2010).

9 cluster rice, cocoa, coffee, fruits and

vegetables, spices, cereals and tubers,

bio Mediterranean, islands, sea, food,

dry areas.

5 areas: Pavilion Zero, Future Food

District, Children Park, Biodiversity Park

Catering on Expo

Sharing meals Expo site: Breakfast 6%,

65% lunch, snacks in the afternoon 17%,

dinner 12%

140 catering units on the site, for a

total of 60 thousand square meters 40%

managed by Spa Expo 2015, 60% of

partners and participating countries.

26 million meals: 13 million in the 55

peak days (weekends and holidays) and

13 million in the remaining 129 days

46 000 tons of food consumed: 33 000

tons of drinks and 13 thousand tons of

solid food.
