FEB. MAR. 2020 IV and ossolani) to cheeses, passing through the whole fresh and frozen, not forgetting the dry and packaged products. Who are your main customers? We cater to the entire horeca chain: restaurants, hotels and bars active along the shores of Lake Maggiore and in the province of Novara. How is the sales and delivery service organized? For the former, we use a team of 7 agents coordinated by a sales manager, who visit our customers every day. The delivery is instead ensured by a fleet of 6 owned trucks, driven by internal staff. The service is guaranteed within 24 hours of the order. How is Nuova Schino organized? The company structure, the warehouse and headquarters, the staff... The offices and warehouse are located in Piedimulera, in the province of Verbania, and cover a total area of about 1,000 square meters. Here 20 people work, including employees and collaborators. Finally, what prompted you to join the Italian Catering Cooperative and what do you expect from this association? What convinced us was mainly the combination of two factors. The first: the possibility of joining an organization that allows members to be competitive in different sectors. The second: the opportunity to be able to compare ourselves with other entrepreneurs operating in areas other than our own. The exchange of information is in fact a crucial added value for those who do our job. As for the future, we expect to be able to optimize key aspects such as warehouse management. Basically, we expect to grow. And we expect to do better. AT PAGE 10 Qi Members Lombardy With over 51’000 active companies, representing 15.3% of the national total (source: Fipe 2019), Lombardy is the leading region for the catering sector. It is therefore a basin full of opportunities for Cic members who operate here. And that, as described in these pages, stimulate the potential of the territory by providing increasingly structured ranges both in terms of products and services. Lombardy Agency Range The assortment consists of over two thousand items of the most famous brands and the best Italian and foreign traditions. It ranges from cheeses to cold cuts, from fresh meat to vegetables and canned fish, through to pasta, flours, wine, oil and drinks, and not forgetting frozen products. In addition to the food division, there is also the non-food division, reinforced by the acquisition of Fe.ma, a company active in the supply of service equipment for bars and restaurants. Strong points It ensures a 360-degree range, capable of interpreting every need of commercial catering operators, thus proposing itself as the “ideal partner” for the Horeca world. Among its flagships, there is the delivery, guaranteed for a very large part of the range on the same day of the order or the next one. News It introduced the possibility for individual customers to customize their items. The service covers both non-food items (disposable products such as cutlery, glasses, plates, uniforms) and food items (in the photograph, the hamburgers branded for Belle Epoque) and is completed with the possibility of storing orders in the company’s warehouse. ______________________________ Longa Carni Range Founded in 1971 with a small butcher’s shop, the company has developed together with the territory of Livigno and its continuous growth at hotel/tourist level. In 2001 it bought another local company, Raisoni srl: with this operation it has become a platform able to cover almost all the needs of the Horeca sector, ranging from grocery to cleaning products. Strong points Service, speed of delivery on the territory and wide choice of products. Obviously without forgetting the artisan bresaola which is - and remains - its best business card. News The merger between Longa Carni and Raisoni is imminent, which will guarantee customers the possibility to turn to a partner able, as mentioned, to cover almost all their needs. The number of products will be increased, focusing for example on frozen fish and frozen pasta. The objective is to satisfy the new needs of a constantly evolving catering industry in search of quality products. ______________________________ Maggengo Valtellina Range Since its birth, it directly commissions the production of cheeses from small local companies that still work with raw milk; it takes care of the refinement also in caves with natural ventilation and it takes care of the distribution under its own brand. The range is completed by a wide selection of regional cheeses and foreign specialties that the market requires. A central item is also represented by local and national cold cuts. Starting from this proposal, the range has been expanded with professional products for the catering industry. In this step, Cooperativa Italiana Catering has played a key role in the selection of reliable suppliers MAGAZINE
